There's just something so right about black and gold. Whether it's black and gold jacquard pants, gold detailing on some rockin' black heels, a major statement clutch or some kickin' textured black and gold boots... it looks phenomenal almost every time.

Playing dress-up for big girls... Oscar de la Renta 2012

This collection from Oscar de la Renta displayed a few looks that instantly reminded me why I love fashion so much: it allows my... (dare I say it?!) "inner child" to come out and play dress up for a bit. When we go shopping, are most of us women really doing anything more than satisfying our constantly evolving desire to play a more grown up version of dress-up? That little girl within wants to wear big pouffy dresses with lots and lots of jewels... to wear soft pinks and pale blues to her heart's desire.

In my heart, I will always be first and foremost a stylist. I may have studied as a fashion designer, but in the end that simply enhances my skills as a stylist and broadens my connections within the fashion industry. I am more than thrilled to be getting back into the world of styling, which is where I feel I have always belonged.

I love to create magic by bringing together beautiful, strong, talented models, with the right photographer, the best garments and accessories I can get my hands on, and talented hair and makeup team.

On March 6th, I worked with a phenomenal team of people to create some exciting new images.

CFDA nominees announced for 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards

The CFDA press release announced the CFDA nominees for the upcoming 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards, which will be Monday, June 4th at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.

The Nominees were as follows (*most excited to see Pamela Love and Rei Kawakubo!!):

"The nominees for Womenswear Designer of the Year Award are Ashley Olsen & Mary-Kate Olsen for The Row, Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs.

The Menswear Designer of the Year nominees are: Billy Reid, Patrik Ervell, and Simon Spurr.

For Accessory Designer of the Year Award the nominees are: Alexander Wang, Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler, and Reed Krakoff.

Chris Peters & Shane Gabier for Creatures of the Wind, Joseph Altuzarra, and Max Osterweis & Erin Beatty for Suno have been nominated for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear. The nominees for the Swarovski Award for Menswear are Antonio Azzuolo, Phillip Lim, andTodd Snyder. For the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design, the nominees are Irene Neuwirth, Pamela Love, and Tabitha Simmons.

The honorary awards go to a diverse group of people. The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, named for the fiercely independent, four-time CFDA Fashion Award winner, will be presented to Tommy Hilfiger.

The Media Award, given in honor of Eugenia Sheppard, the influential journalist who revolutionized fashion reporting with her reports in the New York City Herald Tribune, will be given to Scott Schuman & Garance Doré.

The Fashion Icon Award will given to Johnny Depp, the first male recipient to receive the award, for his personal and eclectic sense of style.

The Founders Award, given in honor of CFDA founder Eleanor Lambert who is widely credited with putting American fashion on the map, will go toAndrew Rosen.

The International Award will go to Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçonsfor making an outstanding creative contribution to the world of fashion."
